H-Rose Machining Ltd
Acquired by the Tomlinson Group in 2002, HRose Machining Ltd is a major supplier of precision machined components to the High Tech, Industrial, Defense, and Armaments markets. In business since 1980, our 20,000 sq.ft. facility is located in Carleton Place - centrally located to serve our customers in Ontario, Quebec, and Northeastern USA. We specialize in machining medium to high complexity components in medium to high volumes, requiring zero defects or component variability. Our sales approach $13 million per year.
Due to our stringent Quality System which is certified to ISO 9001-2000, we offer our clients dock-to-stock and point of use supply. We are registered with the Government of Canada Controlled Goods Program and have a Business License to manufacture and transport firearm components.
While our primary manufacturing is in CNC Milling and Turning, we have many supporting operations, like surface grinding, automatic sawing, ultrasonic cleaning and component assembly. We specialize in machining aluminum, brass, steel, stainless, titanium, and plastics. We also offer fully machined castings, and any finishing requirements, such as anodizing, plating and painting.
Milling and turning operations are achieved with a combination of 19 CNC milling centers and 12 CNC turning centers. Our CNC milling centers incorporate cost-saving features such as tool life monitoring, high-speed machining, automatic pallet changing and rotary axis support. Some of the cost-saving features on our turning centers include 9-axis machining, live tooling, and bar loading. We also have Swiss Turning capability.
Our strength is our people – we have a unique blend of CNC machinists, machine operators and support staff who work together as a team to meet customer requirements. We have developed a hiring program with a skill assessment tool that helps us select local talent to train as machine operators. We currently have 95 employees.
Lean manufacturing is an important part of our growth strategy. Eliminating waste through quick machine changeovers, workstation 5S, and inventory reduction helps improve product flow to our customers. In addition, we are lowering costs exploiting new cutting tool technologies and re-using tools where possible, improving machine coolant use, using more efficient and eco-friendly part cleaning soaps, and reducing scrap.
At HRose Machining Ltd we manufacture precision components for tomorrow’s world – today.
