At R.W. Tomlinson Limited we take great pride in our approach to environmental concerns. In 1996, we branched out and incorporated Tomlinson Environmental Services, in conjunction with our operations at the Springhill Landfill Site. Our motto, “get the job done in an environmentally safe and ethical manner”, is our guiding principle. The emphasis is on compliance with the Environmental Protection Act and related statutes and regulations. We strive to support the 3R’s, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling: are a call to action at Tomlinson Environmental Services. Site remediation, as well as residential and commercial waste collection and processing, joins our focus on construction demolition and debris collection, to ensure that as much material as possible is reclaimed and diverted from the landfill.
The company continues to develop on site reprocessing facilities, with roll-off services for builders and renovators conveniently in place.
Our capabilities include:
Construction, Renovation and Demolition (CRD) Recycling
We are able to maximize the amount of construction, renovation and demolition materials diverted from landfill sites, in excess of 70%, through our state-of-the-art facilities.
Construction Waste Management Programs (CWMP)
Our experts develop Construction Waste Management Programs to identify, analyze, implement, document and evaluate measures to achieve waste management objectives. Our services include: waste audits, waste reduction work plans, material source separation programs, waste-tracking reports and cost revenue analysis.
Roll-off Service
We provide courteous and efficient roll-off container service throughout the Eastern Ontario and Outaouais regions. Supplying single roll-off boxes, to multiple units for large corporate clients.
Site Rehabilitation and Remediation Services
We perform on-and –off site remedial activities, to rehabilitate misused and abandoned sites and bring them into compliance, through applicable environmental guidelines and government regulations. We work closely with our clients, to identify the scope and nature of the contamination. We then develop comprehensive remediation plans, including: heavy civil and geotechnical applications, site decommissioning and the treatment of contaminated soil and water.
Municipal Waste and Recyclables Collection
We offer professional, clean, courteous and dependable curbside waste and recyclables collection throughout Eastern Ontario.
Landfill Services
We perform various landfill services; operation and management, construction (including leachate systems and geosynthetic membranes), landfill mining and the disposal of non-hazardous contaminated soil from site remediation.
Achievements
We are proud, that our efforts to operate a highly efficient Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling Facility have been recognized. In 1999, Tomlinson Environmental Services was awarded, “The City of Ottawa Environmental Achievement Award”, an honourable mention, in recognition of our contributions, to the protection and enhancement of the City of Ottawa’s environment.
In addition, the Recycling Council of Ontario recognized Tomlinson Environmental Services, along with the Township of Osgoode, as a finalist in the category of, “Outstanding Waste Diversion Program Operator Award”. This acknowledgement came in April 2000, for significantly contributing to waste minimization and environmental sustainability in Ontario.
