Quality Control Administrator
 
R.W. Tomlinson is looking for a Quality Control Administrator. Duties are not limited to, but may include. setting up of quality control documentation and record keeping, coordinating the testing of material, analyzing reports, preparing mix design submissions, ensuring work procedures and specifications are followed, documenting and submitting non-conformance reports, conducting concrete tests,conducting soil compaction tests with a nuclear densometer gauge, ensuring timely delivery of all samples to the applicable laboratories. This candidate will be responsible for the daily co-ordination of Quality Control activities. They will communicate with Quality Control Manager, Project Managers, and Site Foremen and attend daily meetings that are held between Project Managers in order to communicate what work is to take place the following day.  As a Quality Control Administrator the candidate will work with our clients/owners, project engineers, supervisors, administrators, foreman, and laborers, to ensure the project specifications are followed and a high level of quality is rendered.
 

 

Accounting Administrator 

Key Duties:

1. Reviewing incoming cost logs

2. Matching information from different sources

3. Entering, and posting data relating to equipment hours, fuel and repairs

4. Reconciling information

5. Researching and resolving issues

6. Preparing analysis related to equipment hours, fuel and repairs

7. Filing data in appropriate locations

8. Communicating with others facilitate process

 

Skills and Attributes:

a. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

b. Excellent communication skills

e. Team player who is willing to work with others to get the job done

f. Willingness to learn

g. Accounting background would be an asset

 

Educational Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

2. Post High School education in accounting, or administration would be desirable.

3. English written/verbal a must

4. French verbal would be highly desirable

   

 

Construction grade man

 R.W. Tomlinson is looking for a grade man. This candidate will work under the supervision of a foreman setting grades, checking elevations, dumping trucks, and working with heavy equipment.  They must have ability to read construction drawings and pull information to set proper grades. This candidate must be proficient with the operating of a rotating laser level and the ability to work with GPS would be a great asset. They must also possess a valid driver’s license and a vehicle.

 

Construction Foreman

R.W. Tomlinson is looking for a highly motivated working foreman with experience in excavation and grading. This candidate must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications. They must be experienced in the use of a laser level or GPS. They will be required to complete construction projects by scheduling materials, equipment, and personnel. They must enforce code and safety regulations and supervise staff and sub-contractors. This person must have a valid driver’s license.

 

Construction Project Administrator

R.W. Tomlinson is looking for a highly motivated person who will work as a project administrator for a group of construction project managers. The duties will include but are not limited to, preparing contract documents after job awards, creating traffic management plans, creating emergency response plans, creating road cut permits, assisting the project manager at the end of each month in preparing the progress payments for payment. The candidate will be required to create and manage construction schedule in Microsoft Project. The candidate must be fluent in Word, Excel, and CAD drawings. The candidate must be a Civil Engineering Technologist (CET). A valid driver’s license is required. Must be able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

Asphalt Paving Tail-Ender

  • Work as a tail ender on a ten man main line paving crew
  • Experience on a CAT AP-1000 paver considered an asset 
  • Experience with MOBA automatic controls considered an asset 
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Must be willing to work long hours when required
  • Must be willing to work at different tasks when paver work not required
  • Must be a good team player with a positive attitude

ASPHALT PAVING FOREMAN

  • Supervise/Co-ordinate daily activities for workers engaged in Spreading, Rolling and Tamping Asphalt for Highways, Streets, Parking Lots, etc..
  • Ability to calculate and place orders for trucks and material.
  • Responsible for a main line, 10 man crew.
  • Must have a good knowledge of asphalt mixes, specifications, placement and procedures for M.T.O. and City of Ottawa projects.
  • Willingness to work long hours when required.
  • 5+ years paving experience.
  • Possess an aggressive and positive attitude.
  • Experience with a Caterpillar AP 1000 considered an asset.

ASPHALT PLANT SUPERINTENDENT

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supervision of 4 asphalt plant crews. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years experience in operation & maintenance of asphalt plants.
  • Knowledge of asphalt products, aggregates and mix designs a requirement.
  • Computer knowledge, batching programs an asset.
