Payroll Administrator

R. W Tomlinson is currently reviewing potential candidates to fill an immediate requirement for a Payroll Administrator based at our corporate head office at 5597 Power Road, Ottawa, Ontario.

R.W. Tomlinson Limited requires a Payroll Administrator to assist in multiple financial activities relating to our bi-weekly payroll functions. This will include the timely and accurate reporting of payroll data for the company employees.

Responsibilities:

• Entering employee payroll hours into accounting system,
• Extract timesheets and review work hours for completeness and accuracy,
• Ensure that hours are categorized and allocated to correct cost centers,
• For electronic time clocks, contact supervisors for any missed times,
• Accept and process pre-authorized staff expense forms; distribute reimbursement checks as necessary,
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements,
• Collaborate with the HR department and other departments to ensure pay and personnel records are accurate and up to date,
• Prepare forms, such as records of employment, income tax forms, and remittances,
• Create payroll files for all new employees,
• Verify pay slip count with employee count and ensure the timely distribution of the pay slips,
• Respond to employee inquiries in regards to payroll,
• Reconciliations, and various other accounting functions.

Requirements:

• Integrity and strong attention to detail are crucial for this role,
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills as communication and client inquiry assistance will be a key component within this position,
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll,
• Working towards CPA certification would be an asset.

Plant Maintenance Supervisor

R.W. Tomlinson Limited is currently reviewing potential candidates to fill an immediate requirement for a Plant Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all maintenance and repairs of both the Stittsville Asphalt Plant and Ready Mix Plant.

• Manual labor such as shoveling and lifting heavy parts.

• Various yard work such as stripping and assembling recycled concrete blocks, keeping yard clean, operating water truck, etc.

• Assist mechanics in the garage when needed.

• Operate water truck for dust suppression on Stittsville Quarry roads.

Requirements:

• Must have a general knowledge of concrete and asphalt plants and all components related to their proper operation.

• Must be willing to become certified in confined space and any other training requirements.
