Highway 41 ($6.1million)
This project required the construction of Hwy 41 between the village of Dacre and the Town of Griffith. This Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) contract won us our first “Paver of the Year Award”, for eastern region. This was the first highway completed by our newly formed Highway Division.
Highway 15 ($5.9 million)
This contract consisted of full reconstruction of Hwy 15 from Carleton Place to Franktown. It consisted of 125 000 tonnes of granulars, 45 000 tonnes of Superpave Hot Mix asphalt and Partial Depth Asphalt Removal. This contract was completed at the same time the Hwy 417 Arnprior project was being done, which allowed us to pave both projects with the same crew and plant.
Highway 35 Minden ($2 million)
We were a subcontractor on this project to Cruickshank Construction. We placed 45 000 tonnes of Hot Mix asphalt for them from Minden to Carnarvon on Hwy 35. The summer tourist traffic made this project difficult because of the restrictions on lane closures which hindered us from achieving higher productions. We were awarded the North Eastern “Paver of the year Award”, for MTO on this project.
Highway 115 ($12.1 million)
This was our first project for the Central Region of MTO. This contract required construction on Hwy 115, from Hwy 35 to just south of the town of Orono. There was 270 000 m2 of asphalt removal, 85 000 tonnes of Superpave Hot Mix and 1200m of noise wall on this project. We were the first contractor that was able to successfully manufacture a Superpave 12.5 FCII mix using dolomitic sandstone as our course and fine aggregate. We achieved some of the highest smoothness ratings ever achieved on this project.
Hwy 15 ($4 million)
We were a subcontractor on this project to Bonnechere Excavating Inc. We placed 65 000 tonnes of Superpave Hot Mix asphalt from Seeley’s Bay to Joyceville on Hwy 15. We were able to recycle 20% RAP into our Super pave 19.0mm successfully, which enabled us to reuse and recycle asphalt that would have been disposed of into local landfills.
Hwy 401 ($3.1 million)
This MTO contract was on the Hwy 401 from the eastern limits of Cornwall to Long Sault. It consisted of 205 000 m2 of Superpave asphalt and 205 000m2 of partial depth asphalt removal. This project enabled us to utilize our newly purchased Roadtec Asphalt Planer. It provided us with a smooth surface which enabled us to place a single lift of asphalt and still achieve very high scores for surface smoothness.
